Iris Massey

Iris Massey has been an artist all her life although if has not always   been her main career. She now retired from a career as an occupational therapist for the Philadelphia School system and now has time to work  on painting and sculpture exclusively.

She graduated from Philadelphia College Of Art and attended courses    at The Tyler School Of Fine Art. She has worked as an illustrator for the free Library Of Philadelphia, has designed greeting cards, done illustrations for various companies, and has written and illustrated a  book for the School District of Philadelphia. She has been a member of the National Watercolor Club and the Philadelphia Watercolor Club.

At This time she is working mainly watercolor, electronic pen, and  ceramic sculpture. Most of the sculpture is done in the rare Raku form combining a primitive theme with a modern touch. Her work has been described as playful and joyous. Mrs. Massey’s art is colorful and imaginative in nature and is well received at galleries and shows.

Her Latest works have been shown at the October Gallery Expo Exhibit, the Pavilion Gallery at Burlington County Hospital, Virtua Health Group   in February, 2002, and Dalesford Abby show in the spring. She also exhibited work in the Deltas’ fundraiser art show.
