Live and works in Houston

Lionel Lofton is an artist that paints and draws his everyday life's experiences. He believes that "Art is a part of living. He is greatly inspired by everyday life and uses figurative and semi-abstract techniques to create the various images.

He works with acrylic, watercolor, mixed media and printmaking. He utilizes the various media to create his many delightful compositions. He has been influenced by Romare Bearden, Pablo Picasso and Charles White.

Solo and Group Exhibitions have included McAnthony's Gallery, Ft. Worth, TX; Black Heritage Gallery, Houston, TX; National Black Arts Festival, Atlanta, GA; Citywide African American Artist Exhibition, The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, TX; Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, IL; Museum of African Life and Culture, Dallas, TX; Hunter Museum of Art, Chattanooga, TN; El Paso Museum of Art, El Paso, TX and the San Antonio Museum of Art, San Antonio, TX.
His works are in many public and private collections including the Harmon and Harriet Kelly Collection; African American Museum, Dallas, Texas; The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Dallas Texas; The Paul Jones Collection and Dr. and Mrs. Clyde Lord's Collection.
