Gilbert Young is perhaps best known for the iconic image "He Ain't Heavy" shown left. His social expressionistic drawings and paintings have thrilled collectors for fifty years. Originally from Cincinnati, Gilbert has lived in Atlanta, Georgia for almost twenty years.

Preston Sampson is well known to Just Lookin's collectors. Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, he earned his Fine Arts degree from the University of Maryland. In 1997 he was commissioned by Absolut Vodka to create a painting for their award winning ad campaign. He loves to experiment with different mediums such as pulp paper painting and encaustic used in piece at right. malcolm

Nora Mae Carmichael's 'Ty Came By'

The African American art community recently lost two stellar people.
Artist and African art expert Merton Simpson passed on March 9.
Harry Jones (Stella Jones Gallery) passed on March 30.
Both were long-time dealers at the Black Fine Art show and will be missed.
